What is this bond election about?
The Midland County Utility District (MCUD) is asking voters to consider a $645,785,000 bond proposal to fund water infrastructure and related improvements across the district’s 54,800-acre service area.​

Why are these improvements needed?
As Midland County continues to grow, the demand for reliable water service, fire protection, and related infrastructure increases. These investments will ensure long-term service reliability, safety, and public health.

What will the bond pay for?
If approved, the bond will fund:

FAQ 4:
How much is the bond and how will it be repaid?
The total bond amount is $645.8 million. If approved, the bonds would be issued over a 10-year period and repaid through ad valorem (property) taxes over 40 years.
FAQ 5:
Will this increase my property taxes?
Yes, property taxes are expected to increase to repay the bond debt. The exact impact will depend on property valuations, the timing of bond issuances, and interest rates. MCUD will provide tax rate estimates as part of its ongoing communication with residents.

All registered voters who reside within the boundaries of the Midland County Utility District are eligible to vote in this election.
